VirtuaNES inverted colors?
« on: May 15, 2015, 11:42:42 pm »
I made a cabinet for a friend several years ago. I had MAME on it and a bunch of console emulators. For Nintendo I had VirtuaNES installed and setup. Recently he contacted me and said that when he started up a NES game, the colors of the game were inverted. Like I guess the entire color palette is inverted.

I'm looking through the VirtuaNES options and config and everything I can't find any settings or hotkeys for inverting colors. I have no idea what he did or how he did it or how to fix it. He lives in a different state so I have to try to solve this problem remotely.

Has anyone else seen this before for VirtuaNES?

I'm not sure what the problem is as it pertains to virtuanes specifically, but it sounds like he's playing the games in arcade mode.   The nes and pc10/vs arcade games used different PPUs and therefore had totally different color palettes.

Of course this may not be the problem at all, I'm just guessing, but I know if you try to run a NES game on a vs emulator the colors are inverted.
