| Whats a first gen ipad good for? |

Back on topic while Jimbo looks for his sense of humor under my pile of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.... I'm replacing the Gen 1 ipad I use with one of those new $50 Kindle Fires. My G1 iPad won't play YouTube videos and most apps, and I pretty much use it for reading eBooks, PDFs, and this site. I want to use the new Fire to watch stuff from my Plex server as well as the aforementioned stuff. |

Yeah... man those things are cheap for what you get. My only concerns are: Can you hack them to accept a normal version of android? Will they accept usb/Bluetooth accessories? I'd like to throw a gps dongle in there and maybe an fm tuner and they'd make a great carputer. |

I've got one of those Kindles pre-ordered, too. Got the 'kids' version so there's no ads and that sweet, sweet unconditional warranty. |

It costs $50 more though...You can buy a replacement tablet for that much. Not sure it is worth it. :dunno Thanks for the heads up though. EDIT: I just ordered one. FYI the two year protection plan is $15 (I didn't add it though) Also back on topic...I would think that a 1st gen ipad would make a good interface for a jukebox? |
