FFB Setup Questions
« on: April 18, 2015, 05:54:31 pm »
Hello all,
I am a new old member I haven't been on here for 10 years or so. I am putting together a new driving cab(I will start a new thread on it later) I have a few questions. Its a Model3 cab so it has the servo drive FFB set up. I am wanting to run the L2M2 setup on it. The question I have is I can get a pair or Virtua racing FFB units, but I cant tell if the wheels have the same spline on them. I can fab a new set of brackets to mount the unit too. I just don't want to buy them unless I can use the same steering wheels.

Beware - The Model3 (as well as later Model2) Wheels have a AC-Motor directly attached to the Wheel and they lack a Clutch. These wheels do NOT work with the l2m2.

Don't quote me, but these later Model2 Wheels, the old Model2, the Model1 stuff etc. all have the same mounting mechanism (4 large screws) - at least on the Twin-Units. I would guess a Model3 Twin still uses the same mechanism.
I do all that stuff even without a Joystick ;)

Let me re phrase that. I know M3/M2 setups are different. I just wanted to know if the actual wheel would fit on the shaft. I will have to make a new set of brackets to mount them to the control panel because the bolt pattern is different.
