Post links to your Pi projects
« on: March 29, 2015, 02:44:07 pm »
I know we need to start and keep Pi projects in the "Project Announcements" section, but what say we make a sticky on here that gives links to pi projects?

Simliar to the "post links to your rotating project" in Automated projects.

Haruman Pretendo kit powered by a RPI 2 B.  It's still a WIP.  The monitor is an HP 1825(18.1"), 14lb beast.

Here's my project http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,150400.0.html

this is just a mod, rather than a build.  This is a hack of the ion icade Bluetooth controller, with an added 7 inch hdmi screen and some new buttons.  A raspberry pi 3 and an ipac keyboard encoder that I had lying around from a previous project.

Awesome idea for a case! I'm hoping to find an inexpensive R2D2 somewhere for something similar! But needless to say, "R2D2" and "cheap" are never in the same sentence, it seems. Haha

Here is a link to my Bartop build.  It’s a GRS cabinet running on raspberry Pi3 with HyperPi front end.  You’ll also find links to an unboxing and build video.  The Mars Attacks artwork was assembled by me, with images found on  the internet, and printed by GRS.

It's a vertical RetroPie bartop with the key feature that the LED marquee will change to match the selected game. Also the characters on the sides are laser cut inlays and not stickers.

Did a full write-up with build instructions, files, scripts on Instructuables https://www.instructables.com/id/Vertical-Bartop-Arcade-With-Integrated-PIXEL-LED-D/
Video here too==>

Would love any feedback, thanks!

That is very cool! I love the design. I want to build something smaller like that myself. Very well done!

Very nice.  :D

Posting a link to my Pi build here (about 50% done). Quite enjoying it so far and can definitely see me building more in the future. When I can sort out the power problems anyway!  :banghead:

This is my pi build.  It started out with a full blown PC in it.  It is now running a pi4.  I may go back to a PC though as I am having trouble getting Aimtrak light guns and trackball working.

Clicking the pic will take you to the album that has some pics of the build process in it.

For my other cabinet i used a pc and hyperspin. Looks great, plays almost all of my games without trouble. But you have to spend hours upon hours to set everything up and looking the way you want.
So to keep cost down i went with the pi. It is pretty easy to setup, but i would say if you want to change stuff, you need to know how linux works. Or look to a gazillion youtube movies to get things the way you want.
The only problem i have is that not every game runs because of the older emulators.
