On Cab Conversions, what did you do to get seat speakers working?
retrorepair:
Doesn't it already have a sub? I have one here that would fit if not.
I also have a sub amp for that cab here too if you don't have one in there.
I love the Sega seat subs, really rattles your teeth :)
Boomslang:
hmm no I never had a sub with it
Brian74:
I used logitech 5.1 speaker's wired to a Yamaha receiver. I took the center speaker apart and mounted it the dash. Sub is inside the cab under the seat.
Boomslang:
cool I just brought 2 x Logitech Z506 5.1 setups. Not sure yet if ill actually take out the seat speakers or just wire them up inplace of the actual Logitech rears. I cant remember what impedance the rears were but I believe they were 6 or 8 ohm and im pretty sure the Logitech speakers are 4 ohm but ill check it out. Im pretty sure you can use 6/8 ohm speakers on 4 ohm amp with no issues except lower overall volume, just cant use 4 ohm speakers on a 8 ohm amp etc
then ill have to do the same on the sega rally 2 cab which ive done a bit of work on in last couple weeks now
ryandoesntstress:
I just used the original speakers and purchased a small cheap amp to power them. They sound great other than a faint static when there is no sound being played. http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6322720243.html?orderId=64422699621032
