Looking for a ROM chip to be programmed |

Scottacus:
I have a spare set of Gorf boards that I'd like to get up and running and one of the boards that is bad is a RAM board. There is a hex file that can be loaded onto a 2532 EPROM chip and when run on the arcade game, this will give the location of the first bad RAM chip. I have a PICKit 3 microprocessor programmer but unfortunately MPLAB will not program arcade ROMS and I don't want to buy a universal programmer and UV eraser to reprogram just one chip. Is there anyone out there with a spare 2532 EPROM in their junk pile and programmer who would be willing to write this file to the ROM? I will be happy to pay for shipping and will return the ROM once the trouble shoot is done. The bin file is located here: http://www.ionpool.net/arcade/tech/gorftest.zip The read me says: "The included binary image should be padded with 0xffs and may be burned into a 2716/2732/2532 depending on how your rom board is configured." The hex file goes up to memory location 000016F and I don't know how much memory one of these ROMs has so I assume that the UV light erase sets the rest of the memory locations to hFF? Thanks to anyone who can help out here! |

I think I saw this request over at KLOV and that you didnt wanna pay what hobbyroms.com was asking, so maybe try MK3Fan / Zenomorph? |
Scottacus:
No this is a new project for me, I didn't know about Hobbyroms. |
Malenko:

Scottacus:
