Eh...bartops have a place. I think the issue is that most people thought they needed a weecade, and that they were going to save space without losing product. Not much space is saved, and the product does decrease. The real benefit is they are cheap and easy to move. I think they are good beginner projects, make good gifts and a good way to make that project that you don't want to invest an entire machine worth of time/money into.

I agree. I find it funny how they're starting to evolve into two player, widescreen projects that get away from the whole "weecade" concept, and now more are kind of a "squatcade".

I'm building a Fix it Felix BUT I started the project back when it was still "cool". I request to be grandfathered in.

Nintendo shaped bartops are the best looking ones anyway. But, I'd like to see more theme varieties than just DK/Popeye/Fixit Felix bartops. I still think SodaPopinksi's old Metroid bartop (love that Mother Brain!) is one of the best ones to have been posted here at BYOAC, along with leapinlew's Galaga mini-bartop.
