Future Pinball and Maximus Arcade - black screen upon start up 2nd time

Maybe I should ask elsewhere but I played a game through Maximus Arcade fine.  Hit my assigned exit button. Went back to the main menu.  Tried a different or same game again and got a black screen after briefly seeing the FP start up logo.
Does it not exit properly the first time and thus can never start up again properly and is there a file path I have to enter in the MA configuration tab?

Did you try hitting alt+tab to see if you can change the window? You may need a autohotkey script to fix the issue.
