Filter Board between the Jamma to the Logic board
« on: December 14, 2014, 01:19:35 am »
What is these Filter boards that go inbetween the Jamma harness to the Logic board

The Filter boards look like Jamma daughter boards

Some Arcade games have them and others don't. What does the Filter boards do and why does some Arcade logic boards need them and others don't?

u are thinking about a filter board for pc-amn/galga..serie's board's
basicly the video need it to nock down the noise..about that simple
for the power-supply part same thing..they just knock down the noise
before u ask a ton of q's about it
the output level's needed to be nokced down so
a choke and filter cap on the video line's
and a choke and electorlitic on the power line's >by-pass<
about that easy..no need to go tech here

What are these filter boards called?

yes they go in "series" inbetween the logic board to the video circuit board?

Why does some arcade games need an extra Filter board to lock down and do extra filtering for the Video signals?

So this filter board only filters for Raster video monitor signals or just for X-Y monitor video signals

remember that whole thing about proprietary parts we talked about?

so vendors would be forced to buy parts from the game maker?

yeah, it's like that.
