Need help with my Christmas list
Karpro:
Am I right that these are the only games that are 3/4 player in MAME?
4 Player Simultaneous MAME
Gauntlet
Gauntlet II
Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder
NBA Jam
Sunset Riders
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The Simpsons
Vendetta
X-Men
3 Player Simultaneous MAME
Alien vs Predator
Iron Ivan Stewart's Super Off-Road
Rampage
If so, a two player probably does the trick

Connect two USB gamepads, throw them behind the coin door if so equipped and always leave them plugged in. Instant 4P.
Seriously, if you're adding 4P because of some teens, they'll definitely lose interest eventually.

JDFan:
I'd agree -- 2 player should do fine the player 3 and 4 will barely ever get used and if you do find the need for the 4 player setup it gives you an excuse to build the second machine !! (and the wife will already see that the first one gets used so will be more likely to let you spend the $ and count it as the kids gifts next year rather than taking it out of your budget :laugh2: )

Do you care about Robotron? Smash TV?
There is nothing wrong with doing this in stages. Save us! We haven't begun to talk about horizontal vs vertical, CRT vs LCD or 4:3 vs 16:9 vs 16:10.
