Nice job.

I like those stools, but sound a little pricey (tight me coming out again.)

How did you remove the bands? Did the wood pieces not try to fall apart when you did?

Just removing half the bands at a time does not affect the wood pieces, just loosens enough to take the cover out.

I used a blunt chisel and a hammer to slowly remove the bands. It was a newer barrel, so the bands were SUPER tight. I think I got tendinitis in my chisel holding hand :(

Another question: The eighth picture down, it looks like the barrel changes shape on the fourth band from the top of the barrel.
Looks like above the band the barrel is a smaller diameter than below the band.
But barrel looks normal in the other pics. Is this an optical illusion or have I been staring at the monitor too long?

That is because of the angle of the shot, the slots are cut out for the panel.

Pretty sure it's an illusion -- from the angle of the pic and the cutout for the monitor and Control Panels so there are planks missing at that spot and the angle makes it look like it shrinks there ! (notice the 2nd pic down from there that has the CP installed and you can see that's where the platform sits !)

Building a Revolution next?

That is my favorite build, but way over the top for me. I also like his Pinball that he was planning but axed. I can't help it Maximus has the creative juices that I lack. If I really had the skills, I would build Gamesters Star Wars Unleashed pinball machine ;)

On a side note, these forums wouldn't really be here if people didn't somehow copy other people's ideas for arcade machines...

Well, there's taking someone's ideas and applying them to suit your needs. Then there's copying. Tomato, clamato.

I will say this though, it's nice to see you didn't ruin this build with ugly art. I like the finish you've got on the wood, and those stools are the TITS. The one thing that always sticks out like a sore thumb on these builds (except the Aussie version) is the cutouts for the control panels, a little more attention to detail in that area and these things would be super sweet.

Agreed. The wood finish on the CP makes this one stand out above the others.

The only one I actually copied was the Little Ms. Pacman, which I asked him permission for and he supplied the plans/artwork.

Also, I have built three of my own before copying his...

Hi Sshado

Whauu.. what a nice job!  :applaud:
May I ask what type of stain did you use, is it oak?

I am in progress of getting the parts for my arcade barrel project, I might follow your build, just with a Arcade CRT monitor  ;D

This is really nice. Not my style but really well done and looks great!

Not sure if you had space for it but adding door with space behind for drinks would be cool  :)

I love these builds... Always turn out looking really cool.

Gets me thinking about theme cabs similar the this. For some reason, I can't help but wonder why we haven't seen a Tapper beer keg build... Maybe I missed it... and I'm sure we can think of others too heh.

Glass should be inset on the top of the barrel.  It'd look better and you wouldn't worry about bumping it.  This thing looks like a countdown to sorrow.

Maybe I missed it, how do you access the inside of the control panel if there is an issue? Does the wood top pull out easily? Is it the top the original barrel top or is it a new piece of wood?
