PopUps
« on: August 20, 2014, 04:34:54 pm »
Is anyone else getting advertising popups from this site?

Every once and a while I get a new browser popup while navigating on this site. I can't prove it's coming from this site, as correlation is not causality. So, just checking to see if others are getting them as well...?

I've not noticed it.  What browser do you use when on the site?  And this may seem odd, what browser are the pop-ups using?  Look closely - I once got my IE infected through a javascript exploit executed while running Firefox.   I NEVER use IE and one day I'm browsing around with Firefox and an IE window pops.  Squished that ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- with a quickness.

On my work computer I'm using IE11, which is where I'm seeing the popups. I can't remember if I'm using IE10 or 11 (I think 11) at home. But, I don't get any popups at home; but then I've also blocked out most AD sites via my HOSTS file at home.

There is a Google Ad Banner normally on the page, so I don't think your hit is the one in question.

I get them at work on both ie and it is annoying because our group policy prevents us from changing any settings to get rid of pop-ups.
