So wait...

I can install something on my MAME cab that will auto check and network high scores with those using it?

Word.

Just insert that googly spreadsheet into that rise app.  Just know that rise makes it clear they intend to charge for this in the future.

I can only hope if this trends well, the FE devs will add similar functionality.

I wouldn't recommend installing it on your MAME cab. It adds a lot of overhead and if you have an old system, it will affect performance.

What we need is a FE plugin that will read the Google Spreadsheet.

Is the matter of the bronze joystick trophy point scoring settled?  It would be cool to have a window for that too.  I'm not in contention, but it would fit in with the theme of the shared scoreboard.

I went in and took out the extra scores where mine were lower than the BYOAC High Score winners so a game is only listed once. I also put it in alphabetical order on the sheet to make it easier to find games.

Remember, this is all honor system, so feel free to add your own scores if they are higher than what's listed. We're all grown ups, here.

I updated the list from the high score comp threads and the BYOAC Scoreboard thread.

@Yotsuya

Do you notice a slow down with this many entries?

I haven't linked to the BYOAC one yet. Are you seeing a slowdown?

This program is meant to run independently, in a corner, looking like a digital sign.  So far, I think its fantastic at what it does.  However, if you put this on your main desktop like I did, it will close chrome when you least expect it.

Even if you turn everything off on the web interface, it will still launch a window.

edit
but if you take the player out of the start up folder, the launching seems to stop.

Gee, and to think I'm still trying to source a good fibre board with changeable letters theme'd to my favorite adult beverage.  Egad, I hotspot my phone and run this thing to just update when I'm in the room.  The possibility, and yet I'm still in love with the analog version.

I hear you, bro. I would trade this setup in an instant for one of these at a reasonable price locally...

I don't have any Mike Boss style graphics on mine, but after working on it for about 2 hours I got it going.  There is a short video that intentionally ignored for over an hour.

Aside from having conficting "devices" the biggest hold up for me was I tried to use the chrome app.

Eventually, I'd like to tweek it more with a more Pac Man ish background.  Or cycle through different Pac Man pics.

Ok i got it to scroll right, i changed the refresh to 6000 secs, and assigned start, company, and demo to my template.

I recommend you change the refresh immediately, to a higher #, it makes the template easier to work with.
