Worst part about football is  the fans.   It was a pretty good game to watch. I only lasted till the end of the 3rd quarter when the Eagles backup quarterback, and Im using the term quarterback very loosely here, tossed an interception. Then I went to bed. 830pm starts to 3-4 hour games aren't made for people who live on the east coast and get up at 530am. Hockey games starting at 9pm are worse.

DVR, friend, and that was a pretty good game I felt like Dallas never quite nailed shut until the end.  I finished that game up around 1am this morning after being at work 9 hours.   :P  I'm going to ask Santa for an office cot for Christmas.

Neither the Eagles nor the Cowboys will win the superbowl this year, of course doesnt look like the Flyers are going to win the cup either :/

Nah, they probably won't, but I need my bread and circuses so grown men chasing a ball it shall be.

I cant DVR a football game, its too likely the game results would be spoiled for me before I could watch it. I just watch what I can and look at the results the next day.  It has to be weird in California to start watching Sunday Pro football at 10am and have the last game over by 9pm.

That'd be awesome!  We get that a little with the NFL game in England but every week? Amazing.

1 game a year from 2007 till 2012, in 2013, there were 2 games , this year and next year there are 3 games. I mean the Cowboys played there week 10 against the Jaguars.

My dad was at the first one in 1986.  Had a t-shirt wrapped up in a plastic bag for years in his dresser.  He'd probably have worn it if the Cowboys won.

So by default, I win.

Kidding. They should all pick again. Since its the last week before playoffs, maybe all pick the game game of Hoopz's choosing and the final score, hoopz decides the victor?  Or just let em pick as normal and hope it gets done by the Superbowl?

Ive barely watched any football this year, will probably watch even less next year.

Ive barely watched any football this year, will probably watch even less next year.

It's the sharp knees isn't it? Well below your standards.

Every time a player makes a tackle or break up a pass they dance . Every time someone gets a first down they do the "first down" arm thing. Every time a wide receiver doesn't catch a pass they want a flag for pass interference. Every time a receiver catches a pass the defender wants a flag for offensive pass interference. If a guy gets a sack he celebrates even if down by 30 points, if a guy doesn't get a sack he wants a penalty for holding. Tackling or hitting hard is a 15 yard penalty. hitting a receiver while he's catching the ball is a penalty. Everything is a penalty.

Its just not fun to watch anymore.

Even if all that magically got fixed over night, I still wouldn't watch Monday Night Football for 1 reason : John Gruden. So I think I get to take a 7yr break from MNF because thats how long his contract is.  They keep trying to sell him as the next football genius. All he did was make a slightly below average raider's team and make them slightly above average. Next up he took a team built to win by Tony Dungy to a super bowl win and drove them into the ground right after with a combined 12-20 record over the next 2 years.  His career coaching record is just a ball hair over 500 , maddens is like 760

EDIT: I do occasionally watch college football, but both Delaware colleges are division 2, so I dont really have a dog in that fight either and could care less who wins the "first college play off"

sometimes, they (other than Gruden) are helpful. Also, I dont have a way to mute just them, watching football with no sound is just weird.

I remember turning this game on and wondering why the sound on that channel wouldn't work:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/otl/news/story?id=5906858

When it comes down to listening to awful announcers or watching the game in silence, I go with silence.

There are apps out there that let you simulcast a feed while you mute the TV.  My dad's irrational hatred of Phil Simms spurred the location of those programs.  Chris Collinsworth has always bugged me but he's a Cowboys fan this year so he's bearable.

Having rode Dez for the third time to three straight championships in one league, I can say that I'm a huge Cowboys fan too.  Romo may not have many December wins but he always puts up points during those games.

Pittsburgh over Baltimore
Indianapolis over Cincinnati

Divisional
Seattle over Arizona
Green Bay over Dallas

I dont want to a do a play off pick em, as long as the Patriots dont win the superbowl I'm happy. Yes PBJ, that means I'd rather the Cowboys win a superbowl instead of the patriots.

My loyalty runs Dallas -> Whatever other Texas team currently exists -> NFC and beyond that I don't care.  So I, too, would rather see anyone else beat the Patriots.

I hate Pete Carroll, so I don't want to see Seattle win again. I hate Cowboy fans (except PBJ), so I don't want to see them even sniff the SB, since it's here, and the last thing we need in AZ is a bunch of uppity unwashed Cowboy fans flooding the Valley. Other than that, I'm good with anyone else in the NFC, and I don't care about the AFC.

Super Bowl
Romo and Dez win it all.

Not a Dallas fan but Romo, Dez and Murray are playing as well as the big 3 did for Dallas years ago.  Dallas over Seattle again is a stretch but I think they can.  As long as Dallas pummels the Lions and the Packers don't win (Sorry Vigo), I'm fine.  Cards pulling out a miracle with whatever QB they have would be nice but they have zero shot.  Manning can't put back to back games together at this point so they don't have a shot.  I'm not convinced that the Patriots are as good as their record but who knows.

Seriously, I hope the Lions never win another game in the history of that franchise.

I think a lot of you guys forget Tony Romo is still the QB of the Cowboys going in to the playoffs...

And quite honestly, my AZ over CAR pick is a heart pick, not a head pick. Realistically, they can't win with Lindley as their QB.

So there's only 10 or 11 games left this season?   :'(

Big +1

I can't remember the last time I wanted the Cowboys to win so badly.  And they play the Packers next week so it looks like I'm on the bandwagon again.
