We have a WINNER . Congrats to Matthew Anderson for his ring this year.  It's his second one and comes courtesy of Peyton Manning and the turd he dialed in today.  Not that I'm bitter after losing this and two of my WRs in FF from that team...

Post if you're interested in a Round 2.  Not much time left but there's always the post season in case we go long.

I propose for this round, since it's so short, you can't pick a game involving Jacksonville, Oakland, or Tampa.  >:D

Just make everyone pick a team from the NFC South to win.

49'ers over Redskins

Hey All,

What a ride! I can not believe I won for a second time... Mostly thanks to Hoopz... I actually forgot to pick until he PM'ed me to remind me.... This came at the perfect time for me... I was watching the game with my oldest this morning (Monday) on my Birthday!

I am excited about continuing on in round 2 (I'll make my pick later this week after I sober up and finish watching my games this week).

Congrats and happy B-day!  :applaud:

Things are gonna get harder during the playoffs, so if round 2 runs a bit long, I think we will still be safe, especially if we tighten up the rules in the end.

And because I am gonna be partying for this game: Pack over Vikes

ROUND 2 is ON!

Malenko - post your damn pick and get in the game.  You know you want to.

We'll leave the rules the same and let you pick any team.  Picking favorites isn't a sure thing.  If we get into the playoffs and have to make games there, that'll be fun and interesting.  We haven't had that happen yet.

Happy Birthday MA and congrats on the W (and crushing my spirit).   :applaud:

Vigo is disqualified for not following the rules.  Picks have to be highlighted not in different font colors.  Typical anarchy that we expect from a GB fan.   >:D

AND I STILL DIDN'T WIN!

They've had a helluva couple games in a row though.  My beloved Bears beat down doesn't look as bad since the Iggles got pounded also.

They were showing the Packers / Eagles game here and finally cut in with, "we interrupt this broadcast to bring you a more competitive game."  First time in my life I've ever seen that happen.

It's been awhile since I've seen it, but it used to be more a lot more prevalent.  It doesn't happen in the primary market for either team but if your getting a "national" game and it's a blowout, they'll move you to a closer (score-wise) game.  It tends not to happen in secondary markets as much but it'll never happen in a primary market.

I've seen it before on college games, but can't recall it at the NFL level.  It was ordinarily something I wouldn't have watched but I was in the garage anyway.

Surprising that they cut it off in your area, I'd think that most Cowboys fans would have been eager to see the Eagles get whipped.

@yot....Good win for the Cards. I think they are only 2 games away from cinching their play spot.

Cards won't do well with Stanton at QB.  Though I do like Bruce Arians.  Big fan of him when he was here in Indy.  And I'd say the team from Wisconsin is the odds on favorite to win the NFC.  Especially if they get home field during playoffs.

Bump for anyone who still wants in for Round 2.

You can say their name. The Packers are not Voldemort. Well, Peppers might be still imbued with the unholy demon blood the Bears infuse into their players with to turn them into raging behemoths.

Hey, if Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson can possess Super Bowl rings, so can Drew Stanton. He just has to be a game manager and let the D keep it close.

Though I don't disagree with your assessment of GB. If the Cards don't win it, I'd be pulling for them over anyone else.

I'm riding the Andre Ellington horse in a couple leagues so I'll be thrilled if they run the table and run the ball well.  And Dilfer and Johnson were starters all year not a backup having to come (back) in to do it.  I hope he does well.

And I'm not rooting for Satan's offspring to win it.  With my luck, I'm confident that they'll do well though.

And Vigo - Peppers played like crap all of last year so to see him doing well, on that team, is just painful.  About as bad as having that jackass that we both hated when he played for the Viqueens come to Chicago and be a Bear.

I'm as surprised as you are that Peppers is performing a the level he is. Honestly, he has been outshining Clay Matthews.

and I know that feeling all too well.

At least Peppers wasn't a hometown hero.  Hired gun from Panthers.  Granted, Farve (correct spelling) came from Atlanta but he was a scrub there.

But that pain of seeing him leave is replaced by the new guy playing QB for that team.   ::)

Yeah, I have been savoring Greg Jennings failure as a viking. It's different than the Favrvrve drama (which was much easier when the fans realized we were better off with Rodgers). I think Bears fans understand that player loyalty separation more than other teams due to their legacy.

Going back to your Jared Allen comment, yeah that has to be a bit cutting to see him as the face of the 2014 Bears. I didn't give that much thought until you mentioned it.

Face of the 14 Bears is spot on.  Jackass that should never be on the team and is the reason for the epic failure.

Personally, I think the Bears are much more talented than their record shows. As much as I joke that they need to replace Jay Cutler, the bears have it good in the QB arena compared to a lot of teams like vikes. My 2 cents is Trestman needs to figure out how they are gonna play the game and focus on bringing in that breed of talent. Seems to me like a lack of identity.

Def, especially the DBs, have been decimated by injuries.  They weren't going to be good to begin with but that's not helped.  Briggs is slow and old. He won't be back.  Losing Tillman again for the season with injuries doesn't help.  When your longest tenured LB says that they have guys IN GAMES that nobody knows their names, that's not a recipe to win v. GB....

Offense is a conundrum.  Too much talent to lose to Buf, Miami, etc.
