Ok so front-ends, pc games hacks ect... driving music is one of those odds-n-ends that's hard to quantify. 

So maybe a list of good driving music?

Off the top of my head:

Fuel -Metallica
Don't Stop Me Now -Freddy Mercury
Bandit theme
Danger Zone
I can't Drive (55)  -ZZ Top

Howard, give Karma To Burn a try.  Awesome rock, no vocals, ...and they're from WV.
It's bad-ass background music.

I usually just listen to the music that was made for the game.

I think only one of these were originally in Crazy Taxi, but I swapped in the other along with songs about drinking.
Crazy Taxi is great when you're drunk.
