Is F-Zero AX not playable in Dolphin Triforce?
That's one game I'd love to be able to play.

Howard_Casto:
It is and it isn't.

F-zero GX works in dolphin and it was discovered that all the assets for f-zero ax are contained within the game.  So via a buttload of action replay codes you can make gx behave pretty much like ax within dolphin (not triforce).  It isn't really ax though.  Damn close.

What I'm going to do is make two copies of gx so that I can have a separate ini file for each and add the AR codes to one of them... that way I can play either.

twistedsymphony:
the actual rom for triforce has been dumped, and works on the hardware via netbooting (so the security has been cracked). I'd be curious what it is that's keeping it from running in dolphin triforce.

Howard_Casto:
Yeah well there were a lot of games on the triforce hardware, but thus far only Mario kart 2 works on the emulator.  So I'm guessing the emu has some pretty kart-specific hacks in place.

Not really,  Tri-Force was severely underutilized... the was only a handful of games made and half of them would be worthless trying to emulate because of heavy reliance on custom hardware... outside of Mario Kart and F-Zero there was:

Virtua Striker 4 (various revisions) - Viable for emulation
Gekitou Pro Yakyuu - a Japanese baseball game, viable for emulation but who really cares.
Starfox  - a vertical shooter but never officially released beyond the prototype stage
The Key Of Avalon (several games in a series) - Network terminal Japanese language RPG, not really viable for emulation
Donkey Kong Jungle Fever - Redemption machine with huge amount of custom hardware, not viable for emulation
Donkey Kong: Banana Kingdom  - Redemption machine with huge amount of custom hardware, not viable for emulation

^ I believe that's it.... so 2 "meh" sports titles and a cool prototype that we'll probably never get a dump for. Mario Kart and F-Zero are the only two titles I think anyone really cars about on the platform.

the Wii based arcade hardware is even more obscure... that only got 1 game: Tatsunoko Vs Capcom

I'd love to see that emulated as it's a really great fighter. Thankfully Dolphin runs the Wii Console release great, but I'd still like to see the arcade version available.
