I'm surprised so many of us still go to these sites.  I have a few sites I can trust..the others I get a virus or malware blocked by my software...I think it fully stops it I hope. Emumovies main page I think gives me a virus warning. alnera.eu ..but I can sneak in other ways and I get nothing.

I'm not sure what you really expect. The sites to begin with are on the shady side. Nothing is clean these days. record and movie companies are seeding these movies to track you and serve you papers.

You either have to up your firewalls and make sure your virus protection is up to date and put up with possibly getting a virus by trying to steal a movie/game/software off a shady site.

or do it legit and buy it from walmart.  :dunno

Works fine for me with no issues using Norton Internet Security (trusted site).  I've also tested it on a corporate lan running an enterprise version of McAfee and it's fine as well.

The URL should be:  http://emumovies.com/forums/index.php/page/portal

Sounds like some sort of adware or malware on your computer is re-directing the site to a malicious source or plug in.

I've come across the alnera address when trying to prop up an XP computer long enough to salvage the important data a couple of months ago for a customer.

From what I can recall, it's a redirect site. Meaning that the site itself isn't a site you would normally visit under any circumstances but works like tinyurl where the site you want to visit is part of the alnera url. So when making the request (emumovies in this case) there is a number of redirects to half a dozen other sites to spoon feed your system a trojan, virus, whatever then your main site is finally loaded. If it actually gets that far.

I'm not sure how alnera initially gets into the middle of it all but I suspect the vector is an infected site, probably a broken forum or some other serverside script taking advantage of an unpatched Java engine on the client. Like what happened with PHPBB a few years ago. However by the time I had to deal with it, alnera was being injected into the URL by a Trojan already on the system.

If we assume for a moment that the main page of emumovies has the alnera javascript, it's not unusual for the rest of the site to not have the unwanted javascript. I come across depa.usst.edu.cn alot when Googling and none of my virus scanners or firewalls or whatever tool I have on hand ever flags this site. Yet my work PC flags it as a Trojan site without fail (from WebBlock IIRC). It is also the only PC at work to do so :dunno I've studied every packet to come across the wire for every page I get and still haven't found anything. So I'm lead to believe that only one page is infected causing the software to flag the entire site.

Back to alnera. If memory serves me, I think once you're infected and start getting that crap from alnera, you might have a trojan that pushes the HOSTS file out of the equation. Stabilizing something like that is tough and requires using a network and a 2nd PC that you have absolute control over to do the work. Otherwise, write it off as a loss and have a bonfire tonight.

As for that client? He never took my advice to set fire to the laptop and buy a new one with W7 or W8 installed once I moved his crucial, can't-live-without-them, files. I recently received another phone call to fix it again. Last time, it took me nearly 20 hours just to stabilize the computer. I might have enough money to buy the LCD arcade monitor drop in >:D :burgerking:

i dont know how anyone uses the internet these days without an adblocker.  do yourself a favor, download chrome and install the Adblock Plus extension.  I've had no issues with emumovies and viruses/malware.
