Pretty sure Adam Sandler movies have not stopped being profitable. At all. Good comedies are very few and far between. Unfortunately, the world will settle for bad comedies in the absence of good ones. Ben Stiller is like the most bankable actor in Hollywood. For example.

Yeah, people seem to think that popular = good. Nothing could be further from the truth. How else to you explain Michael Bay?

I think what pisses me off about him is that he doesn't have to rape our childhoods, rather he seems to take great glee in it and does it just for the heck of it.

Prior to Transformers, he would do these big budget disaster films which were actually decent in terms of watch ability. He was making tons of money with those and at least they were original.

Give the Transformers to Marvel Studios.... they used to do Transformers comics and they were really good. They could just adapt one of those. Give TMNT to New Line Cinema. They seemed to do a good enough job the first time around.

Thankfully I think that Hollywood is finally getting the hint. I know the "gritter" Short-Circuit reboot has been canned as have a number of mindless reboots and adaptations.
