First one. By a country mile. Looks fantastic.

Something not quite right with the  'outrun' text but can't out what it is...

"Something not quite right with the  'outrun' text but can't out what it is..."

Maybe it should be tilted like in the third pic ?

I also like the first one best, except for the inconsistencies. This obviously consists of three parts, the sky in the middle and the lower part
looks a little bit different, there's a cut-off cloud under the 'R' and the palm tree leaves on the left are chopped.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, the rightmost mountain has the top of a palm tree growing out of it.

You may not notice these things in a screen-size picture, but if you print it full size ...

I did see that also.
Specially the chopped pictures is a bummer if you don't redo that before printing.
Dud I can imagine that's just a quick  mock-up for testing what direction you will go

Yes, everything artwork-wise is just mock-ups for now. I need the artwork to say: "YES, THIS IS IT!" before sending it to printing.

I'd be happy to try and whip something up for you

What buttons are those, with the very-low-profile switches?

No, I don't have a name for it. The OutRun theme/skin is enough for me. Allthough I'm wide open for suggestions.

Ouch!

The marquee template size is wrong! Download it again to get the right size! It's width is 40cm NOT 50cm!

Today I've been working on the back and upper marquee area.

I have mounted the battens:

And fabricated some other wooden parts:

Tested with 4mm plywood:

This is how big the lid will be.

Some experimenting with ventilation holes (this one I did not like):

Soaking the plywood:

I'm using the house itself for bending it:  :lol

The bent plywood did fit like a glove. It''s now glued on. But I made a mistake: I forgot to make the ventilation holes! Well, I have to make them anyway, only now I have ONE try.  :banghead:

The back lid panel was bent too much, so I have to make a new one.

Inside the marquee area:

The fan I'm gonna use. Btw: I'm a big fan of this fan!  :lol

First coat of primer revealed some imperfections on the surface, as expected:

Today I started on the back lid. First I made a template for the ribs:

Using 18mm plywood I then cut the ribs a little to big. The rest was a job for the router.

I screwed the pieces together. And screwed the whole thing to a scrap piece of plywood prior to routing it.

The result: 4 exact copies.

And the structure for the back lid is almost ready:

Looks like i'm a bit late to the party for suggestions but I think it would be good to build paddle shifters behind the wheel and then you can use one for accelerator, one for brake.

Then drill some small holes to make 2 small buttons on the wheel i.e the size of a small pad, use the logitech gt wheel for an example (one either side you can get your thumbs on) and perhaps put a button right in the center.

About the ventilation holes in the back:

Today I found these on a local shop (I don't know what they are called in english):

I cut them in right sizes:

Next I drilled some holes in the back of the cab:

And the result did turn out quite nice. I want to keep these white allthough if the back is painted black. They will make a nice contrast back there.

Id lose the OutRun logo, and maybe adjust the pink on the hood to contrast a little less. I know its very close to the original, but I think it'd be better without it

Adjusted the hood color and moved the OutRun text and made it smaller.

Moved the clouds to avoid clipping them:

The color correction is very nice now, bud I would go for a Bigger OUTRUN logo and a smaller SEGA logo.
It's a Outrun cabinet, so it has to be on top

now that you mention it..... I'd move the sega logo to the top right corner. I still say lose the outrun logo, so you can name the cab something else. If youre going to make the marquee say OutRun, then keep it.
YMMV
