I don't think its seeing them. I put a post up about it and didn't get a single reply. i figured plenty of people must have gone through this by now but i couldn't find any info searching the forum. --- End quote --- One suggestion I have is to check your mame path statements on your FE. --- End quote --- FE? is there a path statement for ini's? |

With some emulators it can be quite a hassle to switch between games, as each game may require different settings. A front end can provide the end user with a seamless experience from selecting to playing games. There are many front ends available, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Please check the table on the Front-Ends wiki page for features of various front ends. --- End quote --- Scott |

I have set up an ArcadeVGA a number of times and never had an issue with it picking the correct resolution. I would first check to see if it is actually generating the correct ini files. You can check this by opening one of the ini files for a game and you should see the correct resolution. If this checks out, double check the location of your ini folder. Last, double check your arcadevga settings in your mame.ini # # VIDEO OPTIONS # video ddraw numscreens 1 window 0 maximize 1 keepaspect 1 prescale 1 effect none pause_brightness 0.65 waitvsync 0 syncrefresh 0 # # DIRECTDRAW-SPECIFIC OPTIONS # hwstretch 0 # # FULL SCREEN OPTIONS # triplebuffer 0 switchres 1 |

ah, ok. I just hadn't seen or it didn't click that FE meant front end. yea, I'm using hyperspin and I've double checked that already. if I put the ini files in a folder called /ini how do I tell mame to look for them there, or is there a better way? |
| Dawgz Rule:
There is a default ini folder underneath the mame folder. All of your ini files should reside there. |
