Ideas for changable Marquee system.

JDFan:

Perhaps make it one big roll of marquees with some space between each - that you turn a knob to scroll and some way of holding the scroll of paper up against the plexi.

Drnick:

London Buses used to have a scrolling mechanism that allowed changing of the destination, Maybe something like that, Scroll has 10 different marquees printed, then it uses two rollers to scroll between them and means that they are under tension.

Not exactly a cheap method to do things, But I bet people would be impressed, press a button and marquee changes.  I would be much more impressed with that then watching as you remove the marquee bezel and change it out.   But if it is just for yourself I would go down the rare earth magnet route, I can't see any reason why that wouldn't work.

You could also use a piano hinge on the top of the marquee to allow you to swing it up. Route a pocket in the back of the frame you showed in first post where a Plexi sandwich with the art inbetween will sit.  You then pop the back piece off, Put new marquee in. Pop back piece back on and swing back down into place.  You could use a couple of small inserts and nuts or you could once again use rare earth magnets to hold it in place.

Some fantastic solutions on here....

Like all of them! Think chance's is the most do-able, but still not what I'm after!

Loved the "London Bus" solution, but a bit pricey. Even took me off looking at 16:3 LCD displays... one day...

The frustrating thing is, I can picture exactly what I'm looking for... it's this:

(that'd taken me half a day in sketchup!)

You get the idea - mitered corners and bracket fixed to the cab via screws!

Surely - this must exist somewhere on this planet? Black preferably. :) Can't find it anywhere on the web! It's undoubtedly my poor search skills or imagination. Creative sourcing isn't my strong point.

Any ideas??

If money is no object, then how about this?   ;D
