TIP: How to install GroovyArcade from USB
« on: May 22, 2014, 05:58:09 pm »
Good afternoon!.
I just wanted to share a little but useful tip.
Some weeks ago, when I was ready to install GroovyArcade I didn't had any CD to burn it.
So I needed to install it from an USB Pendrive.
Searching the web I found the perfect solution:
USBWriter:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/usbwriter/

This program is very easy to use, just point it to your Groovy ISO, then your USB Flash drive, click write and there you go.
A bootlable USB drive ready to install Groovy goodness in any computer.

I think this info may be useful.

Regards and thanks a lot to everyone involved in this project.

Whipon.

Hi Whipon,

Thanks for the tip. If you feel like adding a little entry to the wiki in the google code site, it will be welcome. I'm also thinking of the joystick configuration. Just a few lines explanation should be enough.

Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.

Indeed, it took me half a dozen attempts and a couple of hours messing around to figure out a decent tool to do this a couple of weeks ago, would have been useful ;)

Sorry, I've been busy these days.
You're welcome!.
I will add some lines to the wiki then, I'm glad you liked it ;).
EDIT: I had to leave a comment, since I don't have permissions to edit it.
Regards.
