That is, mini in the sense that its smaller than a full sized MsPac

My mom is set to retire this year after 35 years working the assembly line at Chrysler. Her favorite game is MsPac so when one popped up on Craigslist local to me, I went and got it:

Welp, over the last 2 years Bonnie sorta wants to keep the full sized MsPac, so I decided to build her a smaller version of a MsPac. I ordered a Midway style vertical from Haruman and he did me a HUGE favor by letting me order pink tmolding and having it delivered to him, so he could flush trim it to the 1/2" MDF . The only 1/2" tmolding I could fine was either black or white, and that just wouldnt do.

The Blue was too dark (which is 100% my fault, I made the art) so I remade it lighter blue. more updates after I find the data cable for my phone

another slight art issue, if you're OCD like me, you''ll notice one side's MsPac is slightly closer to the curve than the other. I mis-measured when I designed it, and corrected the art for anyone else who gets a whole kit from HaRuMan. Personally it doenst bother me, cant see both sides at the same time. If my mom complains (not likely) I'll get it reprinted and reapply.

I had planned to NephRing this project, but I changed joysticks after ordering the nephring, so I'll prolly need to use this on a different project.

Decided to use a real switching power supply instead of hacking something together:


Here is how everything sits inside for now (well this is prior to wiring the CP, thats the bundle of wiring going straight up the back):

I am going to buy a 3 outlet extension cord for the power supply, monitor, and light to plug into.  I'm using a dell monitor with a sound bar, and that plugs directly into the back of the monitor for power. 1 less cord in the way and 1 less outlet to worry about.

The marquee light looks great when lit up in person, its just camera shy I suppose. Only things left to do are the aforementioned power cord, and make the construction paper marquee. I will take some more picture of the JAMMA wiring and the underside of the control panel, in addition to any other pictures you guys would like to see. Once its done Im going to take it downstairs next to the MsPacman full sized cab for a small (pun!) photo shoot.  Although not pictured this time, big shout out to my fiancee Bonnie for pretty  much applying the side art single handedly.(as in I got in her way a lot)

Here is the inside of the control panel. Note that I still havent ran the P2 start wire yet.


Instead of putting a 3 way power splitter in there, I just wired the monitor and marquee into the PS wiring:

I have one and VERY strongly considered it. In the end I just spliced all the power wires into the power input of the switcher just to avoid have any sort of power splitter for the monitor,light, etc to plug into. The power supply I used was an extra and just felt more "arcadey" to use it.   If I ever have an issue with space the power cord you linked to will be exactly what I use.

That's a place holder, ordering a custom MsPac one thats more translucent for the eventual neph ring installation, once I get a plate that fits.  If you need any help with your cab, just ask mang.

Yeah, I feel your pain.  I wasn't totally thrilled with my luck on Konkey Dong.  The turtle box came out better, though.

For a one off, yeah, that's a bit much.  But it's a regularly used tool in Haruman's kit, so the price isn't that bad since it gets used a lot.

How stable is that tool on t-molding?   

Since there is only about 3/8" that engages the face of the MDF, it seems like the curved face of the t-molding could make it a bit wobbly, resulting in an uneven edge.
