Fonkybeachbum:

hello,
I'm wondering if there's an easy method for getting the e clip off the bottom of my happ joystick.  i don't want to force it with pliers and mess something up, but i also don't feel like dropping $$$$ on an e clip removal tool either.  Any advice would be much appreciated.

I posted a similar question.  PL is on point.  I was concerned I would bend the clip. I didn't.  I even managed to find a replacement in my sleepy town hardware store.

As for the e clip, I've always had good results from a flat screwdriver and/or pliers. Grab the end opposite the opening and pull away from the stick, not up or down. If you accidentally bend it, you can bend it back. They're pretty tough.<

I always use a flat head to get it away from the stick enough to use pliers. Even if you bend it a little, when you put it back, it'll get straightened out.
