Vandal switches at SuperBrightLEDs for CHEEP!

What would you use this button/switch for in an arcade cabinet?
The reason I ask is the hybrid behavior of the switch.
--- Quote ---Single pole double throw Push Button ON/OFF switch with LED indicator. Light press for momentary action, longer press latches on. With Common, NO, NC and LED solder lug connections
--- End quote ---
Not sure if it makes sense?

That sounds like as you can partly depress the button for momentary or fully depress it for latching. (switch closes before latch engages)
Doesn't seem to be a great choice for a PC power switch IMHO. :dunno

Exactly. I can think of tons of uses using this with a microcontroller or for its intended market, automotive. But, I can't think of any uses on an arcade cab. Maybe as part of a control panel for something like a driving sim, flight sim or Mech Warrior cab? Really, I want to know.
Now if the behavior was just as a mom or latching then we have something useful.

I thought it was supposed to be used as a replacement power switch for your PC? Frozencpu.com sells them along with a "sold-separately" wire harness
--- Quote from: frozencpu ---The Mod/Smart 2.8mm Switch Wire Harness is designed to work with the 12 volt ready Vandal Style Switches. This Universal model features a 2-pin motherboard connector design which allows this cable to work as power switch or reset switch. The spade connectors easily connect to the switch.

Based on the description, those are internally different than what the OP posted. FrozenCPU lists two different switch types, one group as momentary and the 2nd as latching. The superbrightled switch works as a momentary on short travel and locks on a long travel (that's my interpretation of the description anyways).
I'm trying to figure out who the manufacture is of the superbrightled's. I'm hoping there is a data sheet that would clarify that detail.
Did anyone buy the specific one from superbrightleds yet?

Let me check my Amico ones. (Haven't installed yet.) I was pretty sure they were momentary only. Was going to use them as power buttons on the back of a couple of bartops.
