Good Front-End for 640x480
« on: March 19, 2002, 09:27:21 am »
I got myself one of the 19" EYGO monitors and i'm looking for a good MAME FE that will run 640x480.   I'm planing on using other emulators with it, so using windows will be nice.  But currently I've never had to worry about the FE's res.  Any help here would be great!

Thanks in advance :)
GAME ON!

I believe all the the recent FE run at 640 x 480.  Give then a try and use the one you like best.

The latest version of AFX supports any of the following resolutions.

640x480
480x640
800x600
600x800
1024x768
768x1024

These are supported directly throught the admin but you could actually do any resolution if you edit the ini  file directly.

I have not been doing much since the new addition arrived.  One of these days I am going to beat you in Golden Tee.  :)

JFront was designed to go on a 27" Eygo monitor.  I'm still trying to find time to make some of the features configuable.  (I add something, get it working for me, then have to spend 3x the time to get it so others could use it... so it can be hard)

The trouble is the font selection in my mind.  I can handle any resolution you want currently.  But you have to create your own skin to handle anything weird.

but luckly every skin I have runs at 640x480 since thats what I run.

You should be looking probably for features since all of them can handle it now.

1) Windows?  (HUGE question)
2) Look like windows?
3) Emulators that it supports
