another windows question

Thanks for all the input so far!  Everyone on here is really helpful.  Here's another windows question for ya.  Once I get win 98 to boot straight to mame32 without showing taskbar, will it still go into screen saver if it's idle for the set amount of time.

Also I'm wanting to wire my controls to a sidewinder hack.  Does anyone know if you can manuever in mame32 with just a sidewinder and if you can set up the coin and start buttons without touching a keyboard?  thanks so much.  I appreciate any and all input!  thanks!!
