That was (semi) intentional. I didn't think the flapping motion in the original was realistic, as the bird moves quite a distance between flaps very much unlike a real bird of that size. I say (semi) intentional, because I've done this without even thinking about it, and it's only come to my attention since you've mentioned it. It probably reminds me more of the original copter game that this is loosely based on. The explanation screen was omitted on purpose and a little lazy on my part. I wasn't able to draw a very good arcade button like in slhomme's version, so I left it out, and I assumed everyone would know how to play flappy bird. I guess aesthetically that's probably not the point. The whole coin idea was just my attempt to bring it more inline with an "arcade feel", but if this is more of an annoyance I'm better off removing it. I might be better off just changing this to insert coin to play, but not putting up a count of the coins, inserting coin will just take it to the get ready info screen...

I'm attaching here the "instructions" images I'm using in my version. Feel free to use them in your version. Good job on the game, it's a little different from the original version that's right, but the fact that it's full screen is great. Hopefully I'll find time to make a full screen version too soon.
Cheers.

I've created a new version....
Added features include random bird, and night mode...
In fact that's the only 2 features I've updated lol
I'll take this opportunity to thank slhomme for providing the 'instructions' screen...

love the update. Much Much better....
Only H Z X SPACE BAR keys worked.... I would rather have no KEYS and only SPACE BAR and ENTER keys to work. the ESC key is good (leave that alone).
THANKS, keeping an eye out on your program (never played this game even with all the hype back then).
I like this version, I think its more playable to me (easier). I don't want it like the others. I don't want to break my screen, mouse, keyboard or someone :) (like some of this videos/news about the game).
