BYOAC Racing Competition #8- Daytona USA ++ 777 Spdwy (Extended till April 30th)
SegaOutrun:
Since everyone was M.I.A (myself included), I decided to keep the challenge open another month. I should have my cab running again soon and hopefully others will join in the competition as well
I suggested to badmouth that we bring back the competition in honor of the release of Daytona ++ and while he liked the idea, he mentioned he is currently swapped at work and suggest I post it.
Since I know some of you havent added Daytona ++ patch to your cabs yet, this competition is open to the regular model 2 emulator as well. But I highly recommend it and the Daytona ++ Patch can be found here forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,137497.0.html
Competition Rules:
- Use any car or transmission option available in the game.
- Fastest total time wins. Winner picks the next game and track.
- No savestates, savestate practices, etc. during the round.
- A screenshot or photo of your time displayed on the game screen is required to
enter. Video is great and would help others learn, but it isn't required.
- Everyone is encouraged to post their times even if faster times have already
been submitted. It's fun to compete with people of the same skill level even if a
master of driving has already submitted an untouchable time.
- Please make sure your times are from games that take place during the
competition period (no posting your best time from last year, etc.).
- Use of scripts or other non-standard hacks are not allowed.
No program or other person or entity of any sort may manipulate your
controls during your game. Coaching & back-seat driving is fine as long as the
party doesn't directly influence the game or controls.
- If you can beat any of the times from the previous competitions, you can submit
your time in the LEADERBOARD thread stickied at the top of this forum.
- Have fun!
BYOAC Racing Competition #8 will be Daytona USA - 777 Speedway (Beginners Course) Fun fact: You can control the slot machine as you pass it by hitting the start button (3x)
Competition ends at midnight Pacific Standard Time, Wednesday, April 30th.
emulator - SEGA Model 2 Emulator by ElSemi (either v1.0 or v1.1) OR Daytona ++ mod by Nuexzz which can be found here forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,137497.0.html
rom - dayton93 - Daytona USA Deluxe '93
settings - default with the exception of country=USA
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
Nuexzz:
I feel great these competitions but I would also like a championship p2p online and elimination rounds, with last year I managed to add the Kaillera client used with m2emulator Daytona USA++ ;) but ... even still problems that the car is clear flickering :-\
SailorSat:
So Daytona '93 huh? Well... I'll give it a try this weekend... Prepare for the worst times ;)
AMG KC:
Ill give this a crack abit later on today if i get some time.
I never bother with the 93 version, but as far as i know its identical to play as the standard 94 version just lacking the network. Ill load up 93 and do a few runs soonish.
AMG KC:
Also, you probably allready know this, but on Daytona the difficulty has no effect on game play at all, only on the amount of time given to reach checkpoints.
Country select also has no effect other than change the speedometer readout to klms or miles, so i shall be using a klms speedometer as i am from a metric country.
Selecting Deluxe cab type will have an affect on the brightness and contrast of the image, because Deluxe cabs used a CRT rear projection system that was less bright than the 29" NANAO direct view of the Twins.
