seems people with golf carts will pay more for the same part. ;)

Thanks, looks to be a ton of options.
Considering the wiring situation... it seems that "faster than speed" as well as Mario Kart GP and F-Zero AX all use steering wheel buttons, I'd be interested to see what they're using to get electrical to the steering wheel.. Pretty much all of the Logitech wheel adapters I've seen are just using phone cord which doesn't seem like a durable or a very clean solution to me.

had some unexpected free time this evening and the parts were handy, so I went ahead and snapped a pic.
The 3-hole mount for a Midway(Happ) steering wheel is underneath.
You could either widen the holes inward or just rotate and drill new holes.

I don't really have anything to add, these guys have you covered but I wanted to remind you that the diameter of the wheel needs to be as close to the stock wheel as possible.
If it's smaller your FF will feel too strong, larger and it'll feel too weak. In this instance the power of leverage is NOT your friend. ;)

To go along with that, I ended up with a 280mm wheel.
Primarily because when using a 320mm wheel, my knuckles were hitting the shifter housing on the Sega Model 2 control panel.
But yeah, it would also change both the feel of the ffb and the speed at which you can change direction.
I think the SF Rush wheels were a little larger than most arcade games, but it's been so long since I played on a real machine that I'm not sure.
Last time I checked there was only one affordable 280mm wheel on ebay.
There are a lot of nice ones that aren't affordable. ;)

The San Fran Rush wheel is significantly larger than most arcade wheels, I haven't measured it but seem close in size to a real car wheel. I also don't have to worry about hitting the shifter since it's mounted down by the seat and there's nothing to interfere with the wheel.
Even still, wouldn't I be able to just up the gain on the FFB output? I know the original hardware allows me to adjust the intensity of the output and even at the default setting of 50% it's strong enough to rip your arms off :lol
