Please list fun games with unique controllers
(1/5) > >>
Paul Olson:
I am going to a local ops warehouse on Monday to pick up the remaining controller parts I need to finish the panels I have planned so far for my modular panel.

Please list any fun games with controllers I may want to pick up while I am there. I already have most of the ones I have thought of, but I am sure there are some I am looking for.

I have these so far:

Spy Hunter
Cart Fury CP for driving games with shakers
GP Rider handlebar for motorcycle games
Paperboy
Enduro Racer
Tron - Joystick and Spinner
Tempest
Space Harrier
Throttle - Happ, plan to use this with the Space Harrier stick for Afterburner
270 wheel for non shaker driving games
2 speed and 4 speed shifters
Star Wars yoke
Roadblasters yoke
Analog Joystick (no idea what games to play with this)
3 360 wheels for super sprint/ off road
Defender
Joust
2 3" trackballs
4.5" trackball
pair of Tank joysticks
I have a bunch of joysticks, but please list any that would make the game that used it feel better

Edit: Adding to the list since I forgot to list some
2 LS-30 Joysticks
atari buttons

I might as well make a shopping list here as I go so I can reference it easily at the warehouse (and have your comments available to see if I can be swayed in the last minute on a few. lol

Shopping List:
Donkey Kong button - kinda ironic since I sold my DK to the op a few months ago. lol
Arm Wrestling Arm
DOT spinner
Wizard of Wor Joystick
plate for Karate Champ joystick (I keep forgetting this when I go to the warehouse)
Tapper tap joystick
kiwasabi:
Major Havoc's weird one axis trackball type device.

Street Fighter 1's pressure sensitive buttons.

The arm from any of the arm wrestling games.

There's a list here.

* A pair of sticks off a T-Mek or Cybersled (both games require two analog trigger sticks per player) or similar analog trigger sticks -- preferably with a thumb button or 2.

See KADESTICK link in sig if you need an interface for them.

* LS-30 or Happ mechanical rotary sticks -- game list and MAME settings here.

NOTE: Make sure you don't accidently get Loop-24 or Happ optical rotary sticks instead of the mechanical versions.

There's a KADE firmware for mechanical rotary sticks, in case you need an interface for them.

* Discs of Tron push/pull spinner

* Lunar Lander thruster

* Atari volcano cones/buttons and SW yoke parts --  always good to keep an eye out for stuff like this.

Happy hunting.

This one is more obscure but Wizard of Wor had special double leaf on it's joysticks.  Its a 9 way joystick...

I almost bought one of the MH controllers a few years ago, then I played MH and decided I didn't like it. The buttons might be kinda cool. One of the wrestling arms would be great. I will add that to my list to look for. Thanks!
