Their games were solid back in the Commodore 64 days. I remember they used to come in gatefold record-album sleeves and contained all this literature on the designer/programmer, etc.  It's a shame.

(Same rhetoric for Activision as well.)

They peaked with Dr J v Bird and MJ v Bird.  Those were awesome games.

Yep.  Basketball games in general have been downhill since Dr. J and Larry Bird. I still play that on my Atari 800.

Well Fed Games:

I'd be happy to spend $20-30 on the full game, but I'll be damned if I'm going to be nickeled and dimed.  Instead of $20+ they get $0 just out of principle.

+1. PvZ2 would have done fine as a "full priced" game. Seemed like a really bad move to go the way they did.

Freemium games in general are a turn off to me, mostly because I can't help but feel like the game design is an afterthought.  IMO, the best games reward players for discovery and strategy, and provide enough variation to keep them interesting to be played again and again.   I'm sure there are some good freemium titles out there, but it feels like cheating to me to pay to unlock material that should be rewarded to the player who spends the time to really learn and master the game, and this material should be there when I decide to plunk down $.

I feel the same way about collectible card games.  Ooh, look at my deck.  It's better cause I have better cards.  Pass.
