Now that mame.dk is gone...
« on: March 23, 2002, 11:55:40 am »
What is the best site out there now to download the mame .59 roms? I loved the mame.dk layout.. it listed all the new and updated roms in one place. Thanks for any help!

sp I hate to disagree with you but those aren't good places to get roms for two reasons:

#1.  The rom zip files are split into a million parts
#2.  You have to wait for someone to post it and even then it   might be some time before a complete set is posted.

First off, if you still visit mame.dk (if you don't then your a roms pup and you should be ashamed of yourself) they have posted a master list of all the resources they used to get roms... various sites that all have a complete or near complete selection.

Secondly there's two really good sites that no-one uses because they are in another language, namely mamefans and emuchina.  Mamefans is much easier to naviagte than emuchina, and if you can tolerate the bandwidth limiters/tricks then its almost as good as mame.dk.

There's one more site that I like to use because it has little securtiy and if you navigate to the dir where they store roms you can leech em all at once.  I won't give the name here because it's rather small but it's on mame.dk's master list.

Also aceroms is a wonderful site when they're actually up they have games for every emulator and a complete set for most.
