Yeah, it would need to be a DPST switch, you don't want those circuits connected to each other. Wire size... I'd say anything down to 26 gauge should be fine.

PL1:

The only possible downside to this 2-in-1 switch design is when one is on and the other is off -- if you push the button, it will toggle both of them leaving one off and the other on.

One way this could happen is if the TV or computer powers up automatically when power is applied. (You did test them and check BIOS/menu settings already, right?)
