~A Generic Game of Boxes~ Arcade "cut" sheets
« on: December 10, 2013, 11:41:18 am »
It is my assertion that each upright is a variation on each other.  The attached pictogram shows the basic areas and should be a jumping off point for anyone to design a unique experience.

I'd like to see this added to the wiki to help folks visualize what they are doing and help plan for spacing.

Are you thinking of something like the old police identi-kit that would allow an eyewitness to select from pictures showing a variety of noses, eyes, mouths, hair, etc. to create a facial composite?

If so, it sounds like a better candidate for an interactive webpage/app than the wiki.   :dunno

If you're thinking about using the diagram to describe the parts and functions, the new FAQ and "Main Arcade Cabinet Portals" on the main page both cover similar ground -- we still need to sort out the best way to organize and present the info.

You're welcome to sign up for a wiki login and throw in your $.02.   ;D

I did sign up.  I uploaded this. Its meant to be more or less a napkin to sketch some ideas out on.  Conceptually, I think this is a good way to consider where a person might put there PC in relationship to the power switch.   Now that you mention it, it looks like one of those tangram puzzles.

That web app idea sounds cool.  I watched the "code in an hour" video at a holiday inn express last night so who knows what will happen there.

In all seriousness though, do I sign up for a list of tasks or  am I supposed to carve out my own section of the wiki?

Cue the Nuge!  It's a free-for-all.   :laugh2:

Like any wiki, contribute to the entries that you think need work and try to find a logical page for the info.

May the best ideas win.

The picture was the wrong size.  It is strange.  Before I could click on it and it would "embiggen."  Now its just big.  Better than small.

The image below has one less side than above, so the last segment used would be LA.

Take note the colored lines.  They highlight the points that lead to different measurements.

The blue and red lines illustrate another distance I'd want to measure.  The green circles identify the angles.

So I found this.
It might be a thing after all.
