 I tried to read in the manual I found here for a dipswitch setting.  I also wondered if it was easy mode or some sort of sales demo thing.  Didn't find the answer though.  What a strange problem.

Thanks for looking. I should have mentioned that I have the OEM owners manual and the schematic manual. No help there. This game doesn't appear to have dip switches on the PSB. All game options appear to be selected through the self-test menu. There's a feature called "bonus adder / free play", but I assume that only gives free play, not invincibility -- which is what I'm experiencing.

Does the game pass each of the self tests?

Yes, it passes all self tests. I was just out in my garage, fooling with it, and the "adder" option has nothing to do with this problem. The "adder" gives additional coin credit when a customer adds more than 2-4 at a time. The machine is now set to free play. I even tried putting it back on coin mode to see if that might be the problem. It does the same thing.
