Projector For Marqee
« on: January 06, 2019, 03:19:21 pm »
I have a question i saw this video being referenced in another topic it shows a Hyperspin frontend outputting a second screen/projector, I NEED this for a future build, how is it done? is there a setting in Hyperspin that controlls it? (i dont have Hyperspin) or is it secondary program, more info on this plz.
Thx in advance

Software is Hypermarquee with EDS.

Here’s some places to start:

https://hyperspin-fe.com/forums/topic/9012-hypermarquee/

https://hyperspin-fe.com/forums/topic/9006-hyperspin-event-dispatch-system-eds/

Lastly a video from the creator of both:

You’ve got two concepts one is Event Dispatch System which is a program that is launched from Hyperspin and overcomes Hyperspin’s inability to launch more than one program.  You launch it from the Tools tab in HyperHQ and can then use it to run Hypermarquee, LED Blinky, or another program.

Then you have Hypermarquee which is the program that creates a window that you can place on a second monitor and stretch or fill it to the window dimensions.  You can have that window be filled with anything from a still image, to a video,to text.

If you haven’t touched Hyperspin before though it’s a bit more advanced.  Just getting Hyperspin setup can take quite a bit of trial and error.  Not trying to dissuade you from attempting just pointing out that you may want to tackle Hyperspin then decide if you want to layer on the next challenge.

EDIT:  posted wrong video, corrected now.

I used this video as a guide for my second monitor to display the controls.

The only problem i had, was that my hpermarquee installer did not create the settings folder. So hypermarquee wouldn’t save the file i edit. After creating the settings folder manualy everything worked.

It took awhile to set everything up, the videos that have been pointed out helped a lot as EDS is little confusing. Here is another video by ninja2bseen that helped out a lot as well, your next step after initial setup is the marquee artwork and folder structure for default and game specific marquees. Good luck!

This is all great and everything but your marquee box is small, and the heat from a pico projector might cause a fire.  So you could move the pico further back and vertical and use a mirror to project the image in the marquee box.
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.
