Dual G27 logitech dilema. Ps3 or Computer?

Hello
I have bought a G27 Logitech wheel, which is great.
And I intend to buy another, to be able to play against my son.

Someone told me to buy two ps3, and plug them together.
However, two computers shall be a good option too.

So here are my criteria.
* The two players shall be able to play against each other.
* If possible without going on the internet (LAN).
* The force feedback shall be there.
* Must be at a reasonable price

The following game must be playable:

* Daytona Usa.
* At least one of the burnout or Flatout series (Flatout ultimate carnage is the best IMO)

Optional
* F1 2008 or better
* Ferrari f355.

This was asked before..  I think the driving games on PS3 that support LAN play is like 2.   (2 games).  Very small number.

Using the INTERNET - the list goes up considerably.

Somebody told me that we can connect two ps3 together like they where in Lan using a router.
And therefore, its like they are on the internet
But I'm not sure about this!!!!

Pretty sure they have to connect to the psn.
