Bluetooth KB Encoders??

Pages: (1/1)

HyperCade:

Been a while since I trolled here. Am working on a retro project and wondered if anyone had a line on a hagstrom-type encoder card that worked by bluetooth rather than USB or PS/2.  Anyone tried adapting one, or know of an already in-production product that would be helpful!

Thanks!

PL1:

Hagstrom??   It has been a while since you've been around. :lol   ;D

Look into the Bluefruit.

HyperCade:

Well now, that is quite interesting.. So.. a clever person can open up an iCade, snip the wires and wire it to this encoder, and it will pair with anything including android tablets (which iCade has a real problem with).

Do they have a product that accomodates analog dials?

PL1:

What you describe sounds possible, but I haven't looked into the Bluefruit beyond the fact that it attaches via bluetooth, acts like a keyboard, and you can change keystrokes by recompiling the firmware.

Analog controls will require a board with A/D conversion like the Atmel ATMega32U4 in the KADESTICK or the updated version that Degenatrons is working on here.

Not sure if the Bluefruit has A/D conversion, but the pin labels don't look promising. :(
