hi. im having some problems with my silverstrke bowling arcade. it will power up but all i get is no sound and a blank screen. i think the problem might be with the nighthawk. can i replace the nighthawk with any old computer. and just swap the hdd? |

NO. the software is board specific. if you find the same make/model (intel board) you can swap it...same with the videocard. but they must be identical vendor and all... for example if its an MSI 7700 you replace it with an MSI 7700 and not an EVGA 7700. as the EVGA won't work. only the hardware that they chose is supported. if your drive is pootched, you have to swap it out. they dont sell/have cd's to re-install either. they cornered their own market. sometimes you can get away with cloning the drive then upgrading to the next version with a USB stick that they would give you to upgrade. that said, check your powersupply for bad capacitors...your motherboard and videocard while you're at it. if there is bad caps you can change them out for new ones and sometimes revive the hardware. ive had pretty good luck (about 99%) with boards that will still boot. even "dead" boards that don't boot at all are about 75% to work. |

Any idear how to narrow done where the fault is. Could a computer shop check the bored for me. Also if I take the nighthark out of the arcade and connect power, monitor, keyboard, mouse. What should happen. Atm it powers up but no sound n a blank screen |

take a few nice big pics of the inside and post them here. i'm sure anything obvious would "stand out". but you are basically looking for anything like this: |
