Windows 8.1 + Logitech G27 woes
« on: October 14, 2013, 12:11:23 am »
So I "upgraded" (reloaded) my driving cabinet to Windows 8.1 x64 Enterprise edition (that's what was available to me...  its a legit copy).  So far Dirt 2 and Dirt 3 straight up don't "see" the wheel.  It doesn't exist.  Windows sees it just fine.  Logitech Profiler sees it.  Outrun 2006 sees it.

But Dirt 2/3 - might as well not even be plugged in.  What's worse is I've got nothing to go off of.  No error logs.  No config screens.  Nada.

On the bright side 8.1 is a significant improvement over the original 8 release.

Re: Windows 8.1 + Logitech G27 woes (fixed...?)

I may have fixed it or at least come to a work around?

Maybe I'm losing my mind, but I *thought* Dirt 3 detects the G27, loads a "G27 Profile / Wheel Profile" (in game) and it *just works* with the G27.   Can anyone say one way or the other?

Well, at least in 8.1 now that's not showing up for me.  I have to manually configure the G27 in Dirt 3, and manually enable Force Feedback.  It seems to work just fine after I do that.  I haven't tried doing the same in Dirt 2 yet.
