Hi guys,
Just received my first set of bsticks and uttons for my 2 player bartop. Due to finances i am buying player to contols next month.
I know that some people have exit buttons, pause buttons, etc aswell, but what buttons do I really need on my setup? I have also bought a mini-ipac so do have a limit on butons.

Thanks.

Nick

I always do 6 buttons per player for main buttons and 1 button each for start\coin and one final black button for admin combos that is usually situated next to player ones start.

6 is the most you'll need per player for arcade games.

I like a dedicated exit button that posts as the escape key and that's about it.
For anything else, I plug in a USB keyboard.

On my current build, I did do gamelist <> buttons, but they also double as coin buttons if you don't want to put a quarter in.

severdhed:

For a two player setup, I'd go with 6 Acton buttons per player, two start buttons, two coin buttons, and an exit/pause button fit a total of 17.

I went the other route with my MiniPAC and maxed out the buttons available.  I have 26 buttons - 2 x 6 button Street Fighter layouts, a coin & start for each player, 2 pinball buttons on each side (total 4, not shown), L & R mouse buttons above the trackball, then 4 x menu buttons for exit, menu, pause, and HyperPause.  I realize that a shift button is available and I could have less buttons but I've been happy with it.
