Almighty is an awesome customer of mine.
I love that he provides with the concept then lets me get creative.
Usually within a few emails we have hammered out a concept that he likes.
This bartop was no exception.......4 different marquees were created and all provided to Almighty.
I want customers to be happy with my work and the value.

The bezel is no different, Almighty and I refined 4 concepts down  to 2 cool designs. Both of which were included for a great customer.

Soon we move onto the MaLa layout and I'm excited to do that.

OFF TOPIC ------ People spend sooo much money on cabinets, me included, yet when it comes down to custom touches, like layouts, or marquee, bezel, etc people don't want to put money into it. (Not many that I've seen IMHO) . Yet when I see this project come together, when I see all the art  tie in together and be custom...something nobody else will have it makes sense.

Almighty awesome job, the paint job looks fantastic !

The artwork looks amazing. I especially like the bezel art, and you're right, it's the little touches that make a project stand out as unique.

Overall, the bartop cabinet is looking amazing!

Thanks Rick,

I am verry happy with the result and i know with the Black Balltops and clear white buttons it will look amazing.
Also a nice Mala layout in this style will make it 100% perfect.

Marc it looks F'N SWEET !
I like it man, looks great.
I can't wait to get that layout done for you.

What is behind the bezel, foamboard ?

When you do your Mighty Cades do you do all fresh installs of all programs/roms/etc ?
Or do you just have a copy of your HDD and use that ?

The other Bartop is up for sale and i put the hardware back in this Mighty Cade Bartop.
Next year i order another kit from arcadeforge and that one would be vertical and a different color. (lime green/sky blue or pink)

The Mala layout will only replace the Pengo one and keep the rest :)

So there is still some work for you next year ;)

I think i will copy my HDD and only keep mame for my next vertical build, i need Mushihimesama and Espgaluda II :notworthy:

Tonight i finished the led strip and put some nice car speakers in the Bartop.
Only i made a stupid mistake with the amplifier, wrong connection with the 12v so i blew up the print :banghead:

Anyone know where i can find a amplifier for car speakers and fits in a bartop?
The one on ebay is not that heavy, i quess, for little speakers.(40Watt)

Have you considered mounting the LED lighting 'ahead' of the speakers? Possibly on a flexible piece of foil-lined paper? I'm just thinking that when you have the marquee in, there's could be a bit of shadow from the speakers...

@ Rick:

The speakers are not visible, see picture above.

I placed them above the speakers so there is enough light, and put one more ''glossy sheet'' behind the marquee art, too much light without that ;)

thanks anyway for the tip

I've used these USB LED lamps with like 13 LED's in a cluster before to light reject buttons.
Never used on the strips ! But they seem cool, and cheap I'd think ?

Strip lighting is super cheap...its all i use for my marquees.

As far as the amp...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/300932216265?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I use these in all of my bartop builds....

Another brand LEpai is pretty popular as well for mini builds...

Today i put the hardware back in the Bartop and it is a lot of work, not much space left and i had a problem putting the VGA card in in Bartop in vertical mode :badmood:
At last i found a solution and with this kabel (16x PCI-E) i can still build in this vga card in the bartop.

There is some little space left for the SLG and underneath the cp for a little keystrike.
thank you! :notworthy: :notworthy:

Here some pictures:

There i still a lot of work to do... :)

Thanks mike,

This Bartop kit will have no problems when you put in a multi pcb board (60-1/19-1 etc.) or a MVS mobo with cart, only with a pc motherboard there is not much space left.

But i will make it fit and i will not rest before it runs perfectly ;D

yup ;D

Do i need a fan in the backdoor to take the air out or are the 3 holes enough for airflow?

And are there any red fan with low db somewhere to buy?

Last one i bought was really crap and a lot of noise...

I have 3 fans (40MM) and are very silence so will that be enough to keep flow the heat out?

Today i put in the new ''balltops and buttons'' and also put a button on the top of the Bartop (on and off switch pc).
And also with the pci-e ribbon cable finally my vga card works and put it behind the lcd because there was not much space left so this will be for me a great solution. (next to it my slg-3000)

Only i will take it out one more time, to drill a hole in the wood for the fan on the top off the card, so there will be enough airflow around.
Also in the backdoor i will put 1 or 2 fan's to take out the hot air and i will place another fan in de middle from the bartop on the ground.
But almost done, and now it is waiting for the keystrike and t-molding :D

This looks pretty awesome :applaud:

Here some picture's:

(on and off switch pc)

This looks great with the ''plexiglass'' on top

Keep you guys posted!

Today i put two fan's for some airflow in the Bartop.

left fan for cold air in (vga card) and the right one for taking the (hot) air out.

There is only some space left under the cp for the keystrike so this was a hell of a job to put everything inside the Bartop.

The second bartop next year will have a smaller pc or a jamma pcb print ;)

Hey Marc,

looking good, looking good !
I started your MaLa layout (check your email).
I think the entire concept really works well together.

I was hoping I could post the complete sample (bezel, marquee, layout) in the Artwork section...........?
Is that OK with you ?
I'd like to drum up some business.

To bump an old thread..........

I had a few questions (and sorry if I somehow missed this).
Do you have a complete list of the hardware you used in this cabinet ?

What light strip did you use ? Do you have a link ?
Does it do a good enuff job, or do you find it dim ?

Lastly, how did you power the buttons ?
