This is absolutely the case... the guy said as much and made sure I knew "he didn't make any money on it." Seemed like an odd thing to share.

That last part is code for "I hope you're happy with it, when you get it, because I'm not going to do anything to help you if it's wrong." At least, that's always been the case when I've come up against that comment. It's usually untrue, of course, but said when people think they're being shortchanged somehow. (Which is odd, in and of itself, since I'm pretty sure they're the ones setting the prices.)

That sounds about right. Hopefully the shop guy will take some responsibility in my case... is there a fingers-crossed emoticon?

I think in the UK by law they have to mark the glass when it has been toughened. However you can ask for a 'furniture mark' which is smaller, basically just a numeric code.

I know this doesn't help you, but you want to get some done again you should request the furniture mark.

Being that you accepted the glass and 3 days have gone by they might not do a thing.
