'Proper' button names...
« on: September 05, 2013, 05:24:33 pm »
Hey all.  I've just started messing around with Johnny5/CPViewer and I've noticed that there's a fair amount of games with button labels like '1' or in the case of SNK games; 'A/B/C/D'.  Does a controls.xml file exist that uses proper names for the buttons?  Ie, for Metal Slug instead of the label reading 'A' is would say 'Shoot' or 'Fire'?

I appreciate that these games generally have instructions within the game, but it just looks a little weird on my FE when some games state proper button functions while others just give a letter/number.

Apologies if this has been covered before...I did a quick search but only came up with an unofficial controls file from 2009...
