I like many tend to hate the "get as many characters as you can on my ________."
But this (like Rick said) is the best I've ever seen.
AWESOME !

Thanks! I'm with you and the many. Especially when they just hijack the art, and force it to work together.

...still waiting on those buttons to arrive  :banghead:

I've finally received the buttons I've been waiting for – smh @ China – and began the wiring for the control deck. While I was waiting for the buttons I decided to create another character collage for the coin door, as well as some caricature renditions of my wife and I for the bar stool cushions.

Here's some of the concept art. My personal favorite direction is concept #2, as it groups the "good" folks to the left, with their nemesis' to the right. Concept #1 is just a generic hoard of characters, mix-matched, and charging out from the coin door.

As always, thoughts and feedback are greatly appreciated!

Love the cushion renderings, but the collages do nothing for me, especially since you're doing great ones for the sides. It's almost like collage overload. Is there a way to go minimalist on the kick plate?

I can see what you mean; which is why I'm going in the less chaotic direction, where the characters are staring each other down more than they are going to war. I suppose you could say that the decision to add more character artwork comes from the fact that it's a MAME cab. I'm trying to showcase as much of the action as I've got room to do so, ya know?

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, I love what you do, man. Your work is great, and I love those cushion renderings. I'd almost like to see you use those on the kick plate, one on each side of the coin door.

Thought I'd share the final ink job for the coin door artwork. Currently working on the coloring, and hoping to have it applied by the end of the year.

I agree with Yotsuya. I think any more collages might make it look too busy. If you went with a simple black only kickplate it would offset the busy look. BTW it looks great so far. And it is your cab you do with it as you will

You're very talented.

I'd still love to see the bar cushion artwork somewhere on the cab.

Love all the art, the custom cushions are a fantastic idea too! Are you going to be screen printing or embroidering them?

I'll be using www.gameongrafix.com to print the artwork. I've used them in the past, and they've produced quality prints that are easily applied. Do you or anyone else have other suggestions for a print shop?

Finished the coloring of the coindoor art. Been a busy end of 2014, and it only looks to get busier through 2015. Hoping to complete the stool artwork before my wife and I move up to Portland in May. I'll do my best to update the progress as I did the other bits.

As mentioned in my previous post, I'd love to hear your suggestions for print shops.

Here's the final artwork for the stools. Wife and I are moving to Portland, OR this Spring, so not sure how long it'll be until I post new photos of the machine with the new art, but I'll try my best to share it sooner than later.

These stools look awesome! Also, as a native Portlander let me be the first to congratulate you on moving to Portland! You're going to love it.

Thanks! We've been in love for years. Finally have the opportunity to make the move, and we're doing it.
