I use MAMEUIFX since it has a search field on the toolbar that shows all games that have that text string as you type, shows parent/child ROMs, and allows ROM auditing from a right-click menu.
I keep a full set of ROMs in an archive subdirectory and only copy ROMS that I want on my playlist to the roms directory.
It would be very easy to dump it to an SD card as well as to the roms folder then right-click audit it in MAMEUIFX to see if that game needs anything else. (parent ROM, driver, etc.)
