Just start  a new thread.  If that's all you want, folks to try it and see how it works and whatnot, that certainly ain't spam.  Lots of others here post their links, and I'll certainly want to look into it.  You haven't had piles of people with their first post telling us how awesome your $50 software is....I think THAT'S what we'd consider spam.  The obvious attempt to ply our favor.

Do you have a website for it?  Screenshots?  I think you'll find the folks here VERY helpful in tightening up stuff or offering suggestions you never thought of or are easy to implement but weren't considered "final-draft" worthy.

Just start a new thread in this same forum letting us know where your stuff is.   And welcome :)

Ok i don't want my first post to be considered SPAM so i won't go straight in and post a link  ::) What i want to know is where i can post a link to get some willing volunteers to test out some jukebox software i started writting last week. Now i know you might think this is SPAM and i could see why but this was the only forum i could find where there are a lot of people willing to try out different jukebox software. Sorry if i have upset anyone with this post as that is not my intention at all. I would add mine to the list but that would just be spam right? Anyway if anyone can point me in the right direction i would really find it helpfull.

And before you ask, no i am not charging for it. Just with only a couple of testers i am not really going to find out what people want/expect form the software or sort out any bugs.

Thanks in advance
BB

EDIT: After reading some of other threds i would like to mention, i am aiming this mainly at touch screen users but if anyone can give me an insight how the mame cabs work (Keyboard inputs?) i can support thoose as well. I don't know if i can offer you anything that isn't already out there although i might add it supports most videos already and it's skinable.

Start a new thread in this forum. I for one, would be happy to test. I have a Win98 touchscreen. Any limitations on OS?

Thanks!

Silverjuke is now able to be run via a keypad and directionals (more "juke"-like).  That is being beta tested right now, but seems like it is well implemented from initial tests.

Seems like some of you guys have been to their forums checking it out, thought I'd bring it up.

News of the change here:

Ever heard of BPM Jukebox? I've been using it a few months now in combination with a touchscreen and it works fine for me. Large buttons and a good interface.  Have a look here http://www.alcatech.com/html/

It's a professional tool and it's not cheap. I paid about $300 for this program, but imho it's the best so far.   I've tried a dozen other jukebox programs (much cheaper or for free), but most of them don't meet my wishes. This one does.

A planned feature is video support. Check out their  website for further details.

I added some screenshots of this program.

I get the impression that the superjesus posts are nothing more than advertising spam. Why someone would pay $300 for that program is beyond me when there are so many free alternatives on here, that in my opinion operate a lot better for a jukebox app.  ::)

Thanks very much for your 'welcome to the forum' speech, assuming me as a spammer.  :-\

I've only told you what i had done to come to the decision to pay for jukebox software instead of using freebees. And i'm very impressed about all the features this jukebox-program offers. It works flawless and i thought maybe there are other people out there having the same problem ( e.d. not have knowledge of writing software yourself) and have no problem of paying for professional software. I also like to build my own mame one day with some help from my friends.  8)

Wanted to give a recommendation for "The Jukebox'er"  Excellent program for people that have a trackball.  There are short key commands, but they are not remappable.  I don't require this as I just use my trackball and mouse buttons to navigate.  I have a lot of music so It would take me too long to scroll through album covers.  It may not be for everyone, but it is a very cool program, very good ripper.

Downside is that it cost around $25.  In my opinion worth it, but to each his own.  And no, this is not a plug...just a recommendation.

Their is a fully functional trial period that last for 20 min each time you load it.   And is skinnable
Cheers

Hey,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a PC Jukebox that has the following functions/compatability

Windows XP
Password protected settings
no access to any other programs/functions on the computer without the password
song selection lock except with password
playlist protection, no deleting previous selection
full song list with no sorting, or sorting
doesnt have to be a jukebox layout
mp3 compatibility

i think thats ABOUT it i can't think of anything else at the moment

I have been using EJukebox for a long time and it does all of that. It has a Kiosk mode that will allow you to lock the program fullscreen and prevent ctrl+alt+del etc until you enter your password to exit. You can also have it limit the number of songs added in x minutes, retrict playlist features, and allot more.

At some point in time I am going to go through this thread and update the first post with links.  Then I will split the replies off.  This thread was intended to list jukebox software available, not three replies linking to the same software and praising how much you like it.

I have been trying to keep my list updated in this thred so you might want to use that as the building block for you list. I rmoved a lot of the dead links and tried to mention which ones are shareware etc. Maybe then you could lock the thred so you don't get all the replies tagging on? Just a thought.

Not sure if this program has been emntioned before but I use a program called Command Cubeshttp://www.commandcubes.com

It has every feature I've ever needed in a Jukebox software program.

It was originally designed to work with a touchpanel monitor but works just fine with a mouse/trackball as well.  Has built in screensaver that can be activated as well.

It supports a manual queue, a stacker, playlists, and full random play.  It was also originally designed to work in part with a Home Automation sustem but works just as well stand alone.

It has quite a following and gets updates pretty often.

It also is certified to play over your home network using Barix products so you can have music in every room in your house.  It supports multiple zones that can be playing independantly ot in sync with each other.

And there's a ton more features.

Download the 30 day trial at their website and I think it's like $49.99 for a full copy.

I use it and love it.  Can also control it from any PC that you install the "Viewer" part of the program on...

Anyway,, take a look and see what you think.

I just noticed it, but the juke image in the background of this is from one of my skins for DOSCab/WinCab (the AJ8 skin)!  LOL!

(Edit: Slightly less amused now that I realize Silverjuke is a commercial product.. kind of nasty to steal resources from a free product in support of a commercial one...)

I was not pleased, actually, and left a (slightly snide) note on their forum.  The developer immediately got back in contact with me and apologized; he said he pulled it off Google Images and didn't trace it back to the source.  Seems to be a really nice guy actually; I gave him permission to continue using the image, he immediately modified the skin to give me proper credit, and when I made a comment about borrowing his button images he immediately sent me the original button images.  We even added links to each other, so all turned out well.

As far as the background photo: It's actually a composite of a number of photos, plus original elements.  The top section is from a Wurlitzer, the chrome from a Rowe, the woodgrain and side tubes created by me in Corel Photo-PAINT. Other chrome elements (that he didn't use) come from a variety of sources, including a chrome radiator, and plastic parts from various objects that have been "chromed" in Photo-PAINT.

Has anyone done the research to tell which of these software jukes support touchscreen?

I finally got my ebay special $89 touchscreen/computer working, and it's not handling Barcrest's very well.

I remember Barcrest wanted to help me figure out the problems once, I'm ready now!

I think the PC is just underpowered though.

NEW JUKEBOX SOFTWARE AND TYPE
« Reply #71 on: April 15, 2006, 04:20:21 am »
hi,
like i said to saint in that mail, i discovered a very nice jukebox in holland last year...it is computer based coin-op jukebox with nice shape and nice looking program with new ideas........i want to share this new type with all of you

i am thinking to make it and put it in my bedroom...parts are OK but program is a problem...i wanted to share this  as a new idea with all of u...you can see  the skin of program in the picture.....it look so simple but easy to use....working with an electronic coin validator and buffer keyboard....it has 2 play buttons.....1 is for normal play other is bomb...bomb is for make your song 1. in the queue....for example: u have 5 credits left and if u push bomb rather than play, your song became 1. with 5 credit...if someone have 6 credit than it became first...we had a race like this in the cafe :)
maybe to have a program like this would be more better....i am Dieng to have this
i m looking forward to hear that some one can fix this....I'm sure some of u interest this....i can give more knowledge and more details if someone willing to make this and share with everybody

greetings

I ran across this simple touchscreen juke which I did not find in a browse of this thread or forum search:

www.izonsoft.co.uk

Its a very simple interface with somewhat limited features but by design is intended for smaller screens.

I wish it was skinnable though....

A mate of mine wrote his own jukebox app (Windows, but is looking at doing Linux/OS X if there is enough interest)

Let me know what you think.

why two different URLs for SK Jukebox? they both work and give me the same content. is on e more "correct" than the other?

Still very happy with it by the way and gets a lot of usein my arcade cabinet. I should just get better speakers...

Album Player has been updated for Touch Screen use.  The author has made a dedicated site just for the Touch Screen version:  http://www.touchscreenplayer.com/

Here's a screenshot as well:
