Yeah it counted. Still trying to get shipping quotes on the last couple orders but my courier was out sick the last couple days. Should have them Monday, Everything else has been shipped out this afternoon.

Also still waiting on confirmation on an order, if I can't get word from him the first person ordering the revised rate/spec will just get a free RAM upgrade

Between the wife needing bed rest on the pregnancy, crazy work hours, and insane weather, I’m finally getting around to doing an official update on parts availability.

I need to thank the BYOAC community again for the support in the limited PC run earlier this year. As mentioned previously this was mainly to help a friend in tough times and also light a fire under my butt in getting some of this old stock some new homes. The positive feed-back and overwhelming interest is spurring me to keep going until my schedule just cannot permit it.

The limited run has also taught me much in the process and experience, so I’m adjusting things a bit to make this easier for everyone:

- Prices will now be listed as including shipping. While I was able to get discounted shipping going through a 3rd party, many of the delays and headaches were tied to not having complete control over the transaction process end-to-end. I’ve started my own accounts with UPS and USPS, so now people know up front what the total cost I’m charging will be. However, this will be for the continental US ONLY. This does not mean I won’t ship to Canada or elsewhere, but quotes will need to be worked out first. To be honest, I’ve told people in these scenarios in the past you’ll be better off looking for local deals in C-List or eBay. But I won’t turn those away that prefer to get their parts from me ;-)

- I’m listing 3 models to start: The Basic, The Modder, and the Portable.  See the main post for details.

No just VGA and DVI, but I believe you can get that to work with the right adapter. Keep me posted if interested.

I can't speak for the emulation questions but as stated in the original post if looking to upgrade video I would personally go with the Modder. They both have PCI express x16 slots, but the modder uses standard ATX parts, so would be much easier to upgrade over time.

I've personally used a cheap MonoPrice Display Port to HDMI adapter on a Modder to connect to a TV in the past. It was also able to do audio pass-through that adaptor, so just one cable from the PC - TV. I can't say for sure if the Basic can do the same, since it uses a different mainboard, but it also has displayport out video and the standard 3.5mm out for audio. I'll have to test it to be sure.

Side Note:

Didn't place this in the main post as this doesn't apply for most. But if anyone is looking for something even cheaper than the Basic, I have some older Core 2 Duo boxes I can setup. I don't have many of these and was going to scrap them, if anyone has a particular need for something of that vintage let me know. Wasn't going to go through the trouble of cleaning some up and creating a base Windows 7 image unless it was worth it to anyone.

The one I got is about the equivalent of a modern i3 CPU.  It ran NFL Blitz at about 95% when in medium res, and 100% at standard res. Of the machines I bought only 1 was actually for me and is the new Plex server in my house. I dont see any issue with running hyperspin, but I can put a DC emu on there this weekend and see what it does. Playstation emulation should be fine, the system is well over what is needed for that.

Do you have spuDemul.dll in your plugins folder?  I'm using demul-0.582 on a Intel G3220 and a $10 powercolor graphics card and I have no issues.

These results are based on the 1st run of desktops TK offered. My desktop version has 16 GB of RAM , and I removed the optical drive in favor of a second hard drive. Other than that, no extra hardware is installed
 
SuperNES : ZSNES ran every game at 100% StarFox, SFA2, SuperMario RPG , etc I was trying to test games with special chips.

Sega Genesis\CD: KGEN\Fusion ran every game at 100%  VectorMan, Virua Racing, Super SF2

Sega 32X\CD : KGEN\Fusion ran everything at 100%  Toughman Contest , Sonic CD, Supreme Warrior 32x

vivanonno : couldnt get it running

Model 2 : Ran Daytona, Sega Rally etc without any issue.

Model 3 : Super Model, couldn't get it to run

PSX: ePSXe ran everything 100% , from RidgeRacer and Gran Turismo to Grand Theft auto and SFAlpha 3

PS2 : PCSX2 : Did better than I thought!   MegaManX collection ran perfect, but 3D games like Vice City,  Soul Calibur 3, etc didnt run fast enough for my liking. Im sure with tweaks games could be made more playable, or by adding on a video card.

PSP: PPSSPP  Ran the games that do run, at 100% with no issue.

MAME: Did the standard test of Gauntlet Legends (90-95% medium res, 100% standard res) , NFL Blitz ran 99% at medium res, 100% at standard

PCE /PCE-CD : Magic Engine ran everything Blazing Lasers, Bonk, SFII, Rondo of Blood

Dreamcast : Demul  Ran Gauntlet Legends fine, no issues with 2D fighters like MvC2, CvS2, but 3D games like Dead or Alive and NHL2K had some slow down issues.


did not test anything that runs just peachy on much older hardware, like NES, SMS, gameboy, GBA, etc  The constant theme in testing is anything that doesnt need a lot of GPU runs awesome and anything that needs GPU doesnt run as great.  Didnt have time / energy to test anything else like Sega Saturn or 3DO, I dont have any saturn or 3DO emulators configured and didnt feel like learning how to set those up just for testing.   Hope this is helpful!

Welp, the PC I got doesn't have a standard power supply, so it couldn't be easily upgraded. If you also get one that doesnt have the standard power supply, I'd suggest the best nVidia based card that doesnt require another power connector to the rear of the card (prolly 8XXX series GeForce or a 440GT). In all honesty if you plan to run more demanding emulators, Id suggest the "modder" PC as you can easily replace the existing power supply with something beefier that will support the power requirements of the video card. For the price its a pretty great little machine.

I've now bought 6 PCs in total with no issues. As for your quote from TK, the prices listed include shipping so unless youre outside the cont. US, just PM him with how many you want

Sorry for lack of updates - processed orders that came in and getting things ready for the arrival of baby #2, so it's been nuts around here.

Still taking orders but will notify everyone when the little money pit arrives, lol. Will take a couple week hiatus at that time, and will most likely return with a "Damn, babies are expensive" sale
